My experience with these guys was an expensive-nightmare($4,000+) involved two re-builds(so they say)-problem not fixed. They don't back-up their work and the "warranty" is whatever they want it to be.
For a guy who calls himself a "transmission specialist" Jug-head Jad is surprisingly thick-headed,incompetent and sloppy.
New owners and the skill-set is NOT up to par with the original owners reputation.
Todd at A & C transmission (best place. )immediately identified the cause and fixed it with a $100 part. Done.
Don't waste your $, - I recommend the competent A & C Transmission for the best service & value.
Business Owner Response: Good afternoon Wayne.
We went above and beyond for you, and no matter how much we tried to help, you kept throwing us under the bus.
Originally, you brought us your vehicle , claiming that Fountain Tire wrecked your transmission when you took it to them for a flush. We inspected it, and verified that the transmission was burnt, and stated that it was very unlikely that Fountain Tire is to blame. There were many issues with the vehicle, and it was very clear that it was neglected and abused for a long time.
You stated that you needed the vehicle back ASAP, to drive it out of town. We accepted the job and squeezed you in to our already busy schedule, to get it done by your timeline. We replaced the original transmission with a rebuilt unit we had in stock. When we were done, we saw a coolant leak at the back of the engine, and we were held responsible, even though it was an ongoing issue from before. We came in on the weekend, and fixed it on our days off, so that you would have your vehicle back on time. Of course, we did not charge anything for that. There was also a leak from the transmission cooler lines, which we could not bring in, in time, so you told us not to worry about it, even though we warned you that if the transmission fails because of that, there would be no warranty.
You took the vehicle back, and called us the next day, complaining of another coolant leak from the front of the engine. We determined that it was your water pump, and we replaced it at a heavy discount. We did not hear from you for a while, until you came back in to town after your trip, and brought us the Yukon back, claiming that the transmission is doing the same thing as before. We inspected it, and verified that the new transmission is now also burnt up. At that point, our builder was on vacation, so we sent it to a third party we trust, for the investigation and repair. Regardless if our builder was here or not, it is always good practice to go to a third party, to hold ourselves accountable, if the damage was caused by us. In this case, the third party verified that this transmission was burnt the exact same way that the original was, and that it was not due to any error on our side, but user abuse by you. After we spoke about that, you told us that you towed a Food Trailer to Grande Prairie which weighed 3000lb. We asked for proof of weight, and were provided none. We had the transmission rebuilt for the second time, and you were only willing to pay 700 out of the 3000 that you should have been charged. You threatened us with a bad review, and we wanted to conclude our business with you, so we accepted the 700 and shook hands.
The next morning, we came in to work, only to find your vehicle parked across the street, with a note on it stating that you still have a transmission leak. We went underneath the vehicle outside, and thought that the transmission cooler line leak had gotten worse. We did not bring it inside for a proper look, since we were not provided with the keys. We called you to discuss, and you did not accept that this was something we would have to charge for now. You used derogatory language, and were very offensive. At that point, we told you that your business was no longer welcome. You took it to another shop, and they found that the leak was caused by the servo cover, which was done by our third party. You then blamed that on us also, and had 2 other people leave us bad reviews on google. We reached out to those people, and they have since removed their reviews. We just saw this review from yourself. It is shameful that you have left us this review and continue to slander our name. We have a great reputation, lots of great reviews and complements from our many existing and new customers since we took over the business close to 2 years ago. We have been working very hard to improve our quality since day 1, and we have been very successful in doing that. We will continue to provide the best service and quality of work to our many great customers and business partners. Your business will never again be welcome here. We only hope that your dealings with other businesses and people are better than the experience we've had with you.
